Exercise Workouts Count Most Activities We Do All Week

Of course exercise workouts are a key component critical to weight loss, but even more importantly, it is crucial to having and living a long healthy life. In order for exercise to become a “way of life” it must be something we enjoy doing, or at least don’t mind, and it must fit seamlessly into our everyday lives.

If it is not something that we will stick with and soon we will think of exercise in a negative light. Physical exercise can be used to compliment a weight loss diet and to maintain optimal weight and health. First you must determine what kind of activities you enjoy and then it is a collection of these things that can be combined to create your own personal exercise workout.

In an effort to melt away calorie consumption and body fat and bolster your heart you need to carry out some type of cardiovascular exercise. The cardio exercises are defined as any action that boost your heart rate for a period of thirty minutes or longer. This is often one single exercise like the stair climber, some form of dance, or running on the treadmill, to mention a handful, or it may be a combination of short activities that will be carried out one after another for thirty minutes or longer. Many of us prefer a little diversity which can assist with the monotony that many feel by constantly performing the same routine.

There are many ways in our everyday lives to increase physical activity and incorporate it into our day. You can choose to use the stairs rather than the elevator or park further away and walk to where you are going. You can vacuum the house, rake or mow the lawn, walk your dog, ride a bike, swim, play sports – the list is endless.

We can significantly increase our sedentary lifestyles by simply making a few conscious decisions each day. These additional things along with an aerobic exercise program for 30 minutes, four to five times a week, will help enhance a healthy life for years to come.

The other component to complete a well-rounded exercise workout is strength training, which should be done on alternate days from your cardio/aerobic routine. This is particularly good if you are trying to lose or maintain weight because muscle actually burns fat. For every pound of muscle you build, you will burn approximately 50 to 100 additional calories per day.

At first you need to focus on the main groups of muscles since they usually build up more quickly and then focus on specific muscles. Commence gradually with 3 to 5 pound weights and gradually add more weight and repetitions as you improve.

As with all exercise programs, you must focus and be diligent in your efforts and you will reap positive results not only physically but mentally and emotionally as well.
