Weight Control And Bowling

Tuesday, October 5th, 2010

Bowling is a game that can get quite emotional and because of that, it can also be used to relieve stress and tension. It is a good way to let off steam for people who lead a stressful life and have a high pressured job. Apart from these benefits, bowling can be a useful component in your weight loss program.

After all, you get to move a lot of your body muscles in bowling. It keeps you physically active, so you burn calories as well. Therefore, not only are you getting some physical activity, but you will be getting rid of some excess fat too. It will help keep your back, leg and arm joints supple, particularly if you are over 50.

If you take part in this sport, you will be almost assured to keep your body in top condition. Depending on how much weight you have to lose and how often you play bowls, you may be able to give up your other weight control exercises.

That would suit most dieters as it is the exercising that bothers most people. It would also save you money as you will not have to pay to use a fitness center and buy work out clothes and track suits. The best thing to do would probably be to join a neighborhood team. These teams usually have local competitions, so you might be required to play twice a week.

The weight control advantages of bowling fall into the following categories.

Light muscle toning is achieved by normal bowling actions like walking, bending and swinging your arm in order to roll the ball. This is just like when you exercise by walking, which is one of the best physical exercises. Bending and swinging your arm to bowl is also good for your joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles. Moreover, it also promotes good blood circulation. So, overall, bowling is a fun way of exercising and losing weight in the process.

Mild fat burning will be achieved by the actions of walking, flexing, stretching, and swinging. If you play often you will be losing weight on a regular basis too. It can be extended by walking to and from the venue of parking your car half a mile away from the club. Walk up and down any stairs involved, do not take the lift

Melancholy can be avoided by mixing with your friends and fellow team members. Many dieters do become depressed when dieting. This can be for several reasons. Your weight loss might be slower than you hoped for or it could be chemical. A sudden drop in calories could leave you feeling down.

Bowling can assist here by helping you build friendships. You get to create good social relationships, which are known to promote better heart performance and good heart performance is a good match with weight loss or control.

So, you see, bowling is not just a great, fun game, it also helps build strength and helps you expend energy, which means calories, and gives you some exercise that you would not otherwise have had.

Weight Lifting Exercises & Tips, Eating Is The Key To Build Muscle Mass

Thursday, August 26th, 2010

Now that you have decided to bulk up with additional muscle mass you must have a plan that works. Weight training is essential if you want to add muscle to your body. What is not as obvious to most people is the need for correct, healthy eating. It takes healthy nutrition to build the muscles that you want.

This short guide will show you precisely what to consume but initially we’ll walk through a few of the basic ground rules for a sensible muscle building diet.

Firstly to build muscle eat more often. Try to eat 5-7 smaller meals every day. This is due to the fact that your body needs excess calories to support muscle growth and build muscle.

When calorie counts are too low you can not build muscle even if you are exercising faithfully. Eating more meals every day will help ensure that you are getting enough calories to satisfy your muscle building requirements. You should make these meals a little smaller than normal so that you will not feel overstuffed after you have eaten. It is easy to eat smaller amounts and still keep the calorie counts in a high range.

You should get rid of any junk food that is still a part of your eating habits. Many people have a junk food addiction and it can be hard to break, but this is necessary if you are serious about being able to successfully build muscle size and strength.

Thirdly, you will need to drink a good deal more water than you had been doing before. try to keep a bottle of water to hand at all times, perhaps leave one in your car. nearly all reactions in the body require water to some degree and that includes muscle building reactions also.

Fourthly, split your small meals into the following amounts of fats, carbohydrate and protein. Try to divide them into 30% protein, 50% carbohydrate with the remainder coming from fats.

There are certain foods that are ideal choices for encouraging muscle mass. Here are a few of the top muscle building items to add to your diet:

For protein: turkey, chicken, fish and shellfish, eggs, red meats, dairy products. These are brilliant sources of quality protein so include them in your daily meals as regularly as you can.

Make sure that you are judicious in the use of food products that have higher contents of saturated fats. Egg whites, poultry, certain types of fish, and non-fat dairy items contain protein and are low in saturated fats.

For carbohydrates and sustained energy release: bread, bagel, pasta cereals, brown rice, oatmeal, and potatoes. For instant hits of energy take on board: fruits such as grapes, bananas, apple, raisins, orange and sports drinks.

You do not have to concentrate on the fats that your body needs. If you are eating plenty of foods that are rich in carbs and protein you will satisfy the fat requirement for muscle building success. Do not overlook the importance of veggies. Yellow vegetables and leafy green veggies contain important nutrients and vitamins. If you can afford a muscle building supplement you may want to add this to your diet. You can get one that contains all of your vitamin needs in addition to the essential fatty acids, proteins and creatine that help you bulk up quickly.

Finally a few words regarding the timing of your meals. To build muscle eat within one hour of finishing your workout, before bed and immediately on rising. If you wish to pack on muscle mass then these are very important times. With the above muscle building diet guidelines in place then you are in an excellent position to start building muscle mass fast.

The Precise Procedure For Weight Lifting

Monday, August 2nd, 2010

Body building is about more than turning yourself into the next Arnold Schwarzenegger (the 1980s Arnold, not the current Governor-of-California-Arnold). Common society views state that body building as little more than a way to grow grotesquely large muscles.

This stereotype has a grain of truth to it. There are some people who really do live that kind of life. Professional body builders, for example, earn their living by building up their muscles to outrageous proportions. Obviously that is not the only approach for body building. The most important reason to try your hand at body building is to get healthy. Body building is a fantastic form of exercise. If you are new to body building, here is the approach you should take.

All body building workouts need to be bolstered by healthy and balanced eating habits. This makes body building like every other workout that is out there because true health is built up on eating healthy meals that either don’t or minimize include junk food. Steer clear of “chemicalized” ingredients and high fructose corn syrup because your muscles don’t deal well with these. When you eat a natural and balanced diet you are giving your muscles the nutrients and vitamins they need to stay healthy as you tear them down and build them back up again.

Set goals you know you can reach. Trying to get super ripped too fast is a bad idea. Focus on goals that keep you healthy and that are “do-able”. Trying to look like your idol in the body building magazines is a possible recipe for disappointment. In this way you will build your body and get the high satisfaction that comes from being able to meet your goals.

You need to have faith in yourself. You have to try to stay positive or getting discouraged is a real possibility. Most importantly, you will have better body building results if you stay positive. It is easier to body build when you are happy with the actions you are taking. If you hate what you are doing it will be harder for you to do it.

Learn how to breathe the right way. Breathing correctly is essential to a body building exercise routine. It is not a good idea to hold your breath. Your muscles need oxygen to stay healthy so you need to breathe in a lot of it during a body building workout. You are going to want your diaphragm to be the focal point of your breathing, not your lungs. When you fill up your lungs with air your chest expands which makes it harder for you to work the muscles in your chest. If you breathe from your diaphragm, you will sill be able to get oxygen into your system but your chest does not expand.

Dehydration is often caused by someone trying to complete a workout without stopping. It could cause you to pull or strain muscles. You might weaken yourself to the point of not being able to complete your workout! Even the most experienced body builder in the world will allow himself an interval to rest between different exercises and sections of his workout.

As you work to build your strength and improve your muscles it is very important that you take the proper steps to ensure that you stay healthy and that you don’t break your muscles down too much. You will see a high level of success with your body building when you take steps to protect your health. And, best of all, you will feel absolutely marvelous!

With watchful fitness management you’re able to lose weight naturally with no tension and suffering.

How A Fad Diet Can Hurt You

Sunday, June 20th, 2010

A fad diet is a trendy diet plan that promises to help you lose weight usually in a comparatively short time. A fad diet frequently attracts a lot of media coverage, which then attracts a large number of overweight people to try it in order to get back in shape. Fad diets are frequently quickly discredited, but they keep raising their head from time to time.

The grapefruit diet was or is an example of a fad diet. People wanted to accept as true that you could lose weight just by eating. The food in this instance was grapefruits, but there is also a cabbage diet. The trouble with these fad diets is that their slimming effect is only temporary, because you cannot eat no more than cabbage or grapefruit for the rest of your life, so the weight comes back as soon as you go back to normal.

‘If you always do what you always done, you will always get what you always got’ is a true saying. But what is worse is that a lot of of these diets can be injurious to your health.

However, do not think that fad diets are a new phenomenon. Fad diets or fad medicines have an ancient history going back to fake witch doctors, medicine men and quack doctors who doubled as barbers! Fad practitioners have a long and scandalous history and they are still alive and doing very well, thank you very much, today.

These days, medicine is too tightly regulated for them, so they have turned their attention to gullible, despondent dieters. Most of those that take up a fad diet are overweight teens longing to look like their favourite film idol.

Fad diets usually concentrate on reducing or completely eliminating carbohydrates. It is the low intake of carbohydrates that brings about the rapid loss of weight. In fact, this quick loss is due to the quick loss of water that these low-carb diets stimulate. Much of the fat might still be there, so that when you stop the diet, your body re-absorbs its normal amount of water and the lost weight is put back on just as fast as it was discarded.

In the normal course of events, carbohydrates are the basis of energy for work and activity, but with these fad diets, the carbs are no longer there, so the body begins to break down its store of fat. This may seem advantageous but it is not necessarily so. The ketones resulting from the breakdown of fat are excreted via urine and often increased quantities of urine, which can cause dehydration. People with certain medical conditions have to be very cautious too; diabetics, for example.

Fad diets are popular, but they can be very detrimental to your body and when they do not have the desired result in the long-term, it can be very depressing leading to comfort eating. This is why many people begin a fad diet, lose weight and are radiant for a month or two, but then slip back when they are approaching their ideal weight. They go back to their old ways and the weight begins to come back. They become depressed, certain that they will never be able to lose weight; they comfort eat some more, maybe giving up any hope of regaining a normal weight permanently.

A Weight Loss Plan For Teens

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

No one has to read a study or a report to know that there are a lot of overweight or obese people in the USA and the UK. You can blame this on the food being sold or a lack of understanding, but the real bottom line is that you are the one who is putting that stuff into your mouth.

Most people do not think about it, but everyone has a choice whether to eat decent food or not. If you are seriously overweight, then you chose to allow yourself to get yourself into that state. No one else, you!

Nevertheless, there is always a way out and it is never too late. There are thousands of weight loss programs, so you should be able to find one that suits you. I made that sound easy and it should be, but people still have trouble choosing one.

My advice is to read the weight loss advert aloud to yourself or a friend. Does it sound like BS? Then it probably is. Dump it. The bottom line is that you can only lose weight by expending more energy than you consume. Having said that there are a couple of ways of achieving that.

The two basic methods are either counting calories or counting carbohydrates, that is Weight Watchers or Atkins. Start by going to their web sites and reading about their philosophies. Choose the one that suits you and stick to it.

One note that I would like to stress here for teens is that at your time of life your body is going through a revolutionary change. You are metamorphosing from a child to an adult and your body is filling up with hormones, you only had a little of before.

Let the change finish, before you start worrying too much. You were a bug, now you are a chrysalis and soon you will be a butterfly. Just wait and your body time to sort itself out.

There really is not much you can do to stop what your body has to do. Spots mean that you have poisons in you and your body wants to get rid of them. Help it by not putting any more junk into it. Keep your skin clean and make sure that everything that touches your skin is clean too. Hands, hair, pillow cases, et cetera.

Exercise! Now is the time to embed an exercise routine into your way of life. Exercise raises your rate of metabolism which helps you burn calories more quickly. If you can burn calories quickly, then you can allow yourself more treats.

The other point about exercise is that if you do not establish a discipline for exercise when you are young, then you will find it harder when you have your next bodily change in your forties or fifties.

The bottom line is not to worry too much about what you look like now, you are a chrysalis. Help your body out by eating healthily and take up a sport you enjoy and stick to it.

How To Keep Your New Year’s Resolution To Lose Weight.

Sunday, March 7th, 2010

Without a shadow of a doubt, the most frequent New Year’s resolution in the West is to lose weight. However, it is also the first New Year’s resolution most likely to be broken! Losing weight is not hard in theory, but practice is oh, so different. This is because it involves lifestyle changes.

Our bodies change as we get older and typically our level of activity diminishes too. Maybe, we get an office job with a promotion, whereas we used to work ‘in the field’. But people in general, do not regulate their diet to match their change in circumstances. We sit behind our desks or in retirement and think we can still eat and drink like we did twenty years ago. Big mistake!

Fortunately, there are dozens of diets on hand to help us attain our weight loss goals. There are the traditional calorie counting diets, as advocated by Weight Watchers; there are the ‘new era’ diets like Atkins, which have us counting carbohydrates and there are no end of fad diets which are frankly not worth wasting time talking about.

The choice of which diet you want to follow is all yours, of course, but it is well worth examining the main types of diet to see which one will suit you. Then you must decide whether you will require the help and encouragement of a weekly visit to a club or not, or whether you can get that companionship from an online club of slimmers, where you talk to fellow slimmers in the club forum online.

It is also worth fixing in your mind, why you want to diet. Is it to look better? Or to feel more at ease in yourself? Or is it for health reasons? Or all three? Have a think about your motives and let them motivate you. Whenever, you feel like packing it all in, remember your motivation. Get a book and journal your progress, but first write your motivation in bold capitals on the front page or cover. Keep it in front of you and read it aloud to yourself every day.

Consult some of the slimming sites online and work out a few key metrics like the average weight people are for your height, sex and body type and your BMI or body mass index. Write these figures on the first page of your book too and use them as the ultimate goals.

You could create a graph and plot your weekly weight to see how you are doing. Set realistic goals and targets. You can get heaps of free information from the Weight Watchers and Atkins websites or / and go to see your doctor for advice and leaflets.

Aim to lose something like 10-20 pounds in the first month and eight to ten per month after that. Go slowly and aim to go slowly, because then you will hit your targets and you won’t feel like giving up. When you get within five to ten pounds of your target weight, assuming that you have lost a lot of weight, rein back a little and allow yourself a little more freedom. Drop your target to one pound a week, so that you will get a feel for ‘eating normally’.

The dreaded exercise; you have to face it, you will have to do more exercise, but two times thirty minute walks a day is ordinarily enough. You could swim once a week too or get an exercise machine, if you are tied to the house by family.

The Lean Hybrid Muscle Scam Myth

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

You may have heard about Lean Hybrid Muscle by now, as thousands of people have already bought the program. Like anything bought online, you might wonder if this is a Lean Hybrid Muscle scam or if it’s really as good as it seems.

Let’s go into some of the details here, as I think they’re really important to acknowledge. The first thing you should know about is Elliot Hulse, the man behind the system. He’s been featured on Fox News and in some other media publications, so it seems like he’s at least a credible figure.

Who doesn’t want a better looking body? We all hope for one, though it obviously requires a lot of hard work that most of us don’t have the time or energy to put in. Still, we look at different programs all the time.

Lean Hybrid Muscle seems like it could be another one of these programs. They all promise the same thing, but this one was particularly interesting because it aims to build muscle and lose fat all at once. Was this too good to be true?

By analyzing some of the ins and outs of the program, you’ll probably get a better understanding of it. The first thing I looked at was Elliot Hulse, who created Lean Muscle Hybrid. After seeing that he’s been on Fox News and in some magazines, it seemed like this was a guy who probably knows what he’s talking about.

Another thing to recognize is the fact that Clickbank is the payment processor for Lean Hybrid Muscle, which is definitely a good thing. They’re a multibillion dollar company that guarantees a refund on all products if it’s asked for within 60 days.

The biggest factor in determining the product’s success will be you. Someone who regularly practices the exercises in the program will undoubtedly see the results. Far too many people fail to follow through with their plans, and this is the biggest risk that you face.

It’s all up to you at this point. You have the power to change your body. There is no Lean Hybrid Muscle scam. Consider it a vehicle that can get you to the finish line, but you’ll have to be there to drive it.

How To Get Really Ripped Abs, 3 Big Mistakes You Should Avoid

Monday, January 4th, 2010

I am always asked by people how they can build abs fast. They often will tell me that they just cannot get fast results. The truth is that you can. You just have to know the right abdominal routine to make it simple.

I am going to tell you that building a six pack takes hard work. Hard work is not enough, though. You need an exercise plan that will allow you to focus your efforts to get the most from them and not waste your time. With every person that approaches me I see the same mistakes.

So, for you to avoid making the same one, here are the 3 worst things you should NOT do:

1. Do not limit yourself only one or two meals a day. You need 5 to 6 meals a day for the best fat loss. You cannot get ripped abs quickly by just eating once or twice each day.

You must have good nutrition to get ripped abs. You need to refuel after your workouts, just like you feel the need to get an energy boost after a stressful day. Your muscles are like that, too. They need refueled so they can recover from a stressful workout. Without doing this you are setting yourself up for muscle loss and strain. You are also slowing your metabolism.

The true strategy for a successful six pack diet is taking in healthy meals at the right time. After your workouts, take in foods rich in protein. Another point, avoid unhealthy fats and starchy carbs like junk foods, deep fried meals and baked goods.

2. Thinking that performing cardio alone will work your muscles. Cardio workouts are good. Yet, this is not enough. To build abs fast, you will need to carry out different exercises, not just one. Resistance training and weight lifting are some of the best complete body workouts that will strengthen your muscles.

Doing these routines combined with abs-targeting workouts will make those abs ripped sooner than you think. One significant reminder though, you should perform these drills regularly at least 4 times a week, every other day. For your cardio option, perform them during the days when you’re not performing your regular workouts.

3. Over-Training. Some people could not even take the pain of hard exercises. Yet, there are those who think that overworking themselves will produce them better results sooner. Well, that’s a big misconception.

Training too hard too often won’t get you near six pack abs. Why? Because you will risk the chance of injuries along the way, physically and mentally. This will exhaust your muscles, and if worse comes to worst, it can damage them entirely.

Your goal should be efficiency. You want it to be accurate so it is effective. Doing too much will not allow you to be efficient. It wears you out and prevents you from doing the exercises correctly.

You should start with 5 reps for each exercise and then gradually increase as you get stronger. Let your muscles adapt. This allows for muscle recovery and gets your muscles ready for more intense work later on.

Don’t make the same mistakes such as these. Applying the most effective regimen will lead you to your fitness goal. Just carry out a highly nutritious diet, do your workouts perfectly, and don’t ever believe that one routine will build abs fast. Now that you know how to get 6 pack abs easily, start doing it right away! In the end, you’ll be satisfied with the fruits of your hard work and efforts.
